It’s wild to think that our 13-year chapter of raising babies, building friendships, and planting roots has gone by so fast. As a transplant from Virginia I never thought I’d fall in love with Nebraska—but life had other plans.
Nebraska became home in all the best ways. It’s where we had and raised our two boys, now 5th and 2nd graders. It’s where we learned the power of community, where front porches were filled with tears and laughter, and where we found other families who shared our values and helped raise each other’s children.
It’s where we built a life full of small moments that mattered.
Some highlights from our time here:
🌽 Homeschooling in the Heartland: Nebraska offered a homeschool-friendly environment with access to nature trails, co-ops, museums, and libraries that supported our lifestyle and our boys’ curiosity. If you’re homeschooling in Nebraska, lean into the state parks system—they’re gold for science lessons and outdoor adventures.
🤝 Finding Our People: Don’t be afraid to say “yes” to the playdates, mom meet-ups, or events that feel outside your comfort zone. That’s how I met some of my dearest friends.
🛡️ Military Spouse Support: Though my husband is no longer active duty, the military spouse community and wider support system in Nebraska has been priceless. For anyone relocating here as a military family, check out the local Facebook spouse groups—they’re active and incredibly welcoming.
As we prepare to relocate to Knoxville, TN, we’re feeling all the emotions. Excitement. Gratitude. A little heartbreak.
But I’m also thrilled to announce that I’ll be bringing Ladies Lifestyle Network to Knoxville as the new Community Director. I plan to document our family’s road trip, our move, and how we’re creating new rhythms in a new city—while continuing to homeschool and build community.
💞I will be passing the baton! If you’re interested in hearing more about becoming Omaha’s next Communty Director, contact me!
So whether you’re a mom in Nebraska who’s sad to see us go, or a mom in Knoxville who’s ready to meet her people—I’m here for it. 💛
Thank you, Nebraska, for giving us 13 years of belonging. Knoxville, we can’t wait to grow with you.
